Artist's Comments

Maybe a little bit provocative, maybe a little silly, maybe a little scary. Whatever you prefer.

Just in case: it's NO emo picture and I'm in no suicidal mood. She was actually going to be a nasty zombie, but I changed my mind :D.

Comments, including 1-liners are appreciated.
How else would I know if it sucks or not? ;).

This is a really beautiful image. I love the color scheme and the skin tones look fantastic. The background textures are very engaging and interesting without overpowering the figure. The heart rate monitor line (I have no idea what the technical term is) in the background is an excellent touch.

The skin on her upper body is very smooth and lovely, and the skin on her legs are speckled, which looks kind of odd to me. I would expect to see some spots on her upper half. You mentioned you were thinking of making her a zombie, so I don't know if that has something to do with the differences in skin texture.

I'm not sure what the thing is that's sort of protruding off of her left breast. At first I thought maybe it was her nipple, but it's not really the right shape nor in the right spot.

I think you could have gotten away with making the shadows from the fringes/pleats on her skirt a bit darker and more hard edged.

Well that's all I've got. Apologies if this seemed kind of nitpicky; overall the painting is really well done so I had to search for things to critique on.

This definitely gives off a very unsettling mood yet at the same time alot of beauty just lying within. I can see what you meant in your comment about thinking of letting her become a zombie and honestly I'm starting to think you should've gone more down that route. But I digress this is still pretty damn appealing. I understand the background is probably meant to be abstract with a very soft leafy texture but noticing the small line scratches (especially the one close by her feet) I think more stuff should be added for it. Even if it's something small and subtle like an old poster or the shadow of a chair for instance. Still I do like the minimal effect of a tragic story behind this woman's fate that allows the viewer to endlessly keep guessing her demise.

Oh my lord. Oh kdlfjdksljf OH MY GOD. This is so amazing- seriously one of the best things I've seen in a long long time. It looks so realistic, I love the folds above the belt and how it spans out, and the little edges at the end. The skin and texture and everything is so well done, And the flat line in the background is really just brilliant.

Well done, seriously. You have a LOT of talent- definitely one of the better artists on DA!

OK, so love everything on this except... what is with her nipple or something? I can't figure that out and I'm not sure why that one looks exposed though the dress seems even. It just throws me off, especially when everything else is non-exaggerated. The feet look casual and very natural (impressive, I suck at that) and I love the way you hint at the folds without over accentuating them.

I just thought it was a reference to an actual celebrity?

Why take a photo when I'm already here?

You know what's funny? Not that.

Really well drawn and designed. I like the way you did her hair and the dress.. it's a nice tough to have that heart monitor line in there. I really love this piece a lot.

Do you know those valves on inflatable toys? :D That's it.
(I guess I just can't paint something pretty without adding a twist ^^.)
Actually, I think that the size of her breasts and the length of her legs are quite exaggerated. :)

No one specific ^^.
